LIGIT · AI LEGAL ASSISTANT FOR INDIA

The Paralegal You Never Had

Affordable, tireless, multilingual — built and battle-tested on real Indian legal data.

The problem

Indian legal research and drafting is slow, expensive and fragmented — a ₹1.09 lakh crore market where lawyers and firms still rely on manual paralegal work for research, chronology-building and contract drafting.

My scope

Three pillars I owned

01

Product Management

Owned the Early Adopter Program end-to-end — feedback loops, RICE-scored prioritization, bug and feature tracking, SOPs for support and onboarding. Ran 1:1 research calls with Supreme Court lawyers and litigation associates.

02

Product Strategy

Defined segmentation (law firms, individual practitioners, law colleges, fresh grads), wrote positioning ("Paralegal You Never Had"), authored a 2-phase roadmap (MVP → compliance/risk differentiators) and built pricing architecture (5 tiers, token-cost margin modelling).

03

Marketing

Designed the GTM funnel end-to-end (Awareness → Retention → Expansion) with channel-specific CAC targets, segment messaging and partnership strategy across private law firms, NLU faculty and court chambers.

Marketing funnel

Awareness → Retention → Expansion

  1. 1

    Awareness

    Litigation associate buried in bundles

    • Manual research eats billable hours
    • Hears of Ligit via chambers, NLU faculty, search
  2. 2

    Consideration

    Evaluating against Lucio & Harvey

    • Reads the side-by-side proof
    • Checks tiers from ₹999/month
  3. 3

    Onboarding

    Early Adopter Program

    • Guided onboarding SOP
    • Uploads first case bundle
  4. 4

    First Value

    The aha moment

    • Chronology built in 30 seconds
    • Cited research, first draft exported
  5. 5

    Retention

    Daily driver across matters

    • Feedback RICE-scored into roadmap
    • Support SOPs clear blockers
  6. 6

    Expansion

    Chamber → firm → pilot

    • Seats added, tier upgraded
    • Tier-1 enterprise pilot, peer referrals

Retention feedback re-enters the roadmap; expansion feeds referrals back into awareness.

Proof of value

Ligit vs. the market leader

Test prompt asked to both tools: “What is the Supreme Court ruling on the pet feeding case in India?”

Ligit

Cited the actual Aug 2025 bench order (stray dog removal, modified by a 3-judge bench), gave specific compliance directions — sterilisation, no public feeding outside designated zones — and referenced exact case law (Nagaraja v. UOI, 2014).

Lucio

Opened with “there is no single, unified Supreme Court judgment for the pet issue” — hedged, generalized across years, lighter on citation specificity.

Same prompt, side by side — Ligit returned the actual ruling; the market leader hedged.
